Meet Your Ovatures Nurse: Shannon Lighton, BSN, RN

Once you are approved to be an egg donor, Shannon Lighton, our Ovatures nurse coordinator, will connect with you to begin the process. Her role is to work closely with egg donors and egg recipients to ensure they are comfortable and cared for every step of the way.

Not only does Shannon play a big role in the clinical aspect of care for egg donors – such as coordinating egg donor cycles, reviewing lab results, and providing medication training – she also works with the egg recipients, educating them on their options and coordinating their frozen embryo transfers after their donor has been chosen.

Through the entire process, Shannon provides unparalleled emotional support for donor and recipient patients with questions and concerns. Shannon serves as the liaison between you and your doctor, making sure you’re on the right track with your cycle.

“The one thing egg donors should know is that we are here to guide them through the process from start to finish,” Shannon says. “We are all in this together.”

Shannon has been a part of the Ovatures team for nearly three years, and holds a special place in her heart for the egg donors she’s worked with and the families those donors help build.

“Helping a woman donate her eggs and then seeing another family benefit from that is the best feeling in the world,” she says.
